JEEIR has a new home which is hosted by Malaysian Journal Management System (MyJMS), Malaysian Citation Centre (MCC), Ministry of Education, Malaysia. The current website is still functional, however issues from Sept 2019 will not be available here.

For the current issue, please go to http://myjms.moe.gov.my/index.php/JEEIR/issue/view/672. You need to register in order to make submission.

Until we complete our migration this website can still be used to access archived issues. Thank you.

Greetings and Welcome to the Website of Journal of Emerging Economies and Islamic Research (JEEIR)

By 2020, the emerging economies will account for about 50% of the world economy as two-thirds of global GDP growth will be generated in those countries. At that point, the world’s biggest economic drivers will be the BRIC countries where China's GDP will be greater than that of the EU and the US. However, apart from a few exceptions, per capita incomes in emerging countries will still be significantly lower than those of the "developed" countries. There is immense interest today in the various economic, political and social issues facing emerging market countries.

The world's Muslim population is expected to increase by 35% in the next 20 years, rising from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.2 billion by 2030, according to new population projections by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion and Public Life. If current trends continue, Muslims will make up 26.4% of the world's total projected population of 8.3 billion in 2030, up from 23.4% of the estimated 2010 world population of 6.9 billion.

The Journal of Emerging Economies and Islamic Research (JEEIR), formerly Economic Bulletin has been renamed as such to reflect these two important global trends: First, the rise of China and other emerging economies becoming major economic forces in the world. Second, the increasing global interest on Islam and the rapid increase in Muslim population that see witness to a phenomenal growth in Islamic Banking, Finance, Halal and other related industries. We believe this is the first journal that brings into focus the two latest global trends of emerging economies and Islamic research together under one journal.

The Journal of Emerging Economies and Islamic Research (JEEIR) is an international refereed online journal, published by the Faculty of Business and Management and UiTM Press, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia. The Journal under its previous name Economic Bulletin was first published in July 1993. The editorial board members proudly welcome you to this journal and invite you to participate and make contributions as writers of papers on economic, business and financial issues related to either emerging economies or Islamic research or both. The journal is published via the online platform three times a year specifically by the end of January, May and September.

Currently, the Journal of Emerging Economies and Islamic Research (JEEIR) is indexed by reputable academic databases namely econBiz, EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, and MyJurnal,
